A retired broadcaster has been found dead at her home in Abeokuta alongside her security guard. The murders happened early Sunday at the residence of Mrs Kitan Oyesiku in the Kobape area.

Oyesiku, widely known as "Aunty Kitan," spent her career at Ogun State Television. She was discovered inside her apartment during the raid.

Her security guard was found dead within the security post on the premises. Both bodies bore signs of a violent attack.

Police arrived at the scene after a resident from Iyana Agodo Village reported suspicious activity. The alarm was raised on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

Ogun State Police spokesman DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed the killings on Monday. He noted that detectives found clear evidence of forced entry throughout the house.

Items were scattered across rooms, indicating a struggle took place. Investigators also discovered that Oyesiku's vehicle was missing from the property.

The Police Public Relations Officer told reporters that a comprehensive investigation had begun immediately. "We're working to understand all circumstances around their deaths," Babaseyi noted.

Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni ordered a thorough probe into the incident. He directed that no stone be left unturned in finding those responsible.

Surveillance teams have been deployed across the state to track suspects. Intelligence-led operations are underway at key locations in the region.

Police urged residents to remain calm during the investigation period. Citizens were asked to report any information that might help officers.

The command extended sympathies to Oyesiku's family members on Tuesday. It also reached out to colleagues and staff at OGTV.

The media community in Ogun State has been shocked by the killings. Many described Oyesiku as a respected voice in broadcasting circles.

Investigators are following multiple leads at this early stage. They believe the motive could be robbery, given the missing vehicle.

Babaseyi promised that justice would be served in the case. "We assure the public that perpetrators will face the full force of the law," he said.
