Secondus Slams Wike as “Nigeria’s Most Transactional Politician” Amid Political Feud

Amidst a brewing political feud in Rivers State, former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has hit back at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, labeling him as “Nigeria’s most transactional politician.”

This exchange follows Wike’s recent comments at a media parley in Abuja on Tuesday, where he described Secondus, Senator George Sekibo, and other PDP leaders in Rivers State as “expired politicians and buccaneers” for supporting Fubara, with whom he is currently engaged in a political feud.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Secondus, through his media adviser, Ike Abonyi, in Abuja, accused Wike of being “economical with the truth, harbinger of half-truths, and a mastermind of outright falsehoods” to manipulate public opinion.

Secondus further criticized Wike for his “well-known trait of double-speak, twisting of facts to score some cheap political points,” and for standing the truth on its head.

Secondus also took issue with Wike’s characterization of respected political leaders in Rivers State, calling them “transactional politicians, political vampires, and political buccaneers” during the Abuja media parley.

He found this characterization appalling and unfortunate, especially considering the contributions of these leaders to the political landscape of the state.

As the political cold war in Rivers State continues to intensify, both Secondus and Wike have engaged in a war of words that shows no sign of abating.

The public and political observers alike are closely watching to see how the situation develops and what implications it may have on the future of the PDP in the state.
