Sam Amadi, head of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, says the African Democratic Congress brought its troubles on itself. He made the comments during a Monday appearance on Arise Television.
His remarks came just 24 hours after Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso quit the party for the Nigerian Democratic Congress. According to Amadi, concerns about ADC's formation have lingered since the beginning.
The party sidestepped key decisions on zoning, consensus-building, and primary methods, he noted. Now it's weakened at its most critical moment, Amadi argued.
"The ADC crisis is self-inflicted," he told the television host. Fuzzy rules on core issues have crippled the party, in his view.
