Roberto Martinez says Portugal's friendly against Nigeria will prepare his squad well. The Portuguese coach spoke to reporters on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday night's encounter.
Martinez reckons the match offers a chance to fine-tune tactics ahead of their World Cup clash with DR Congo on June 17. "We have an opportunity to work on aspects that are similar to what we'll face against Congo," he told journalists at his pre-match briefing.
He acknowledged Nigeria presents serious challenges on the pitch. According to him, "It's a different African side.
It will be a demanding opponent, who will be a test to prepare our squad."
Portugal come into the fixture on the back of a 2-1 win over Chile recently. Nigeria drew 2-2 with Poland in their last outing.
