Retired senior police officers struggle to survive, PCS says

The Commission’s Chairman, Dr. Solomon Arase, has expressed his condolences to the loved ones of the late CP Frank Odita, who served as the former Force Public Relations Officer and was laid to rest on Friday.

According to a statement by Ikechukwu Ani, the Public Relations Officer of the Commission, Dr. Arase lamented the poor welfare of retired police officers, especially those in senior ranks, who often face difficulties meeting their basic needs after retirement. He said this situation tarnished the image of the Nigeria Police Force.

Dr. Arase praised the deceased officer for his integrity and professionalism as a police officer and a public relations practitioner. He said the late CP Odita had made valuable contributions to the nation and deserved better treatment.

Dr. Arase also appreciated the solidarity of the retired police officers who supported the late CP Odita during his illness. He called for the improvement of the welfare of retired police officers, who, he said, still had a lot to offer the nation.

Dr. Arase prayed to God to grant his family and friends the strength to cope with this great loss.
