The schoolchildren and teachers rescued from kidnappers have arrived at Governor Seyi Makinde's office in Ibadan. Government officials, security chiefs and dignitaries received them at the Executive Council Chambers in Agodi.
The victims were abducted on May 15 and regained freedom on July 10, after spending more than 50 days in captivity. Security agencies worked intensively to secure their release.
One teacher was beheaded by the bandits days after the initial abduction. The tragic loss weighed heavily on the rescued group as they arrived at the governor's office.
