Reno Omokri Slams Peter Obi: Naira Gains Value While LP Candidate Stays Silent

Socio-political activist Reno Omokri has once again criticized the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, accusing him of being an enemy of Nigeria.

The latest clash between the two prominent figures comes amidst the minimal recovery of the local currency against the US dollar.

Omokri took to his X account to point out that the naira has continued to appreciate against the dollar, trading at ₦1610 to $1 at both official and parallel markets.

He called on Nigerians to celebrate such small progress, emphasizing that it is essential to recognize even the slightest improvements in the country’s economy.

However, the activist did not miss the opportunity to take a jab at Peter Obi, claiming that the former Anambra State governor would not tweet or post about the positive news regarding the Nigerian economy.

According to Omokri, Obi would only focus on negative aspects, such as the recent 3.4% GDP growth reported by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and the 50% reduction in oil imports.

Omokri’s criticism of Obi is not new, as the two have been engaged in a war of words since the 2023 presidential campaign began.

The socio-political activist has been a vocal supporter of the ruling party, while Obi has garnered significant attention for his focus on economic issues and his promise to transform Nigeria if elected.

The exchange between Omokri and Obi has sparked heated debates on social media, with supporters of both sides weighing in on the matter

. As the political landscape in Nigeria continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how this ongoing conflict between the two prominent figures will impact the country’s future.
