Primate Elijah Ayodele of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church has condemned Nigerian politicians over the Oyo State abductions. In a statement released Sunday through his spokesman, he painted a damning picture of the nation's leadership.
The spiritual leader called politicians heartless and satanic. He insisted that divine retribution would eventually catch up with them.
Ayodele also blamed clerics who've aligned with government at the expense of speaking truth. Security operatives haven't fared better in his assessment either.
He questioned why Nigeria's security apparatus fails repeatedly despite advance warnings. According to him, developed nations would've resolved such crises by now.
"Our politicians are heartless and satanic to the nation, and there is no way nemesis will not fight," Primate Ayodele said in the statement. He added that religious leaders and security operatives have similarly disappointed the country.
The prophet expressed confusion about Nigeria's apparent misalignment with God's will. He noted that even when solutions are offered to those in power, they dismiss the messengers as jesters.
Religious umbrella bodies like CAN and PFN bear responsibility for the shame, he argued. Both organizations have failed to tell government home truths, according to Ayodele.
President Tinubu came under direct fire from the spiritual leader. Ayodele warned that the President risks being forced from office unless urgent action follows.
Governor Seyi Makinde also drew sharp criticism from the prophet. Ayodele was particularly incensed that Makinde attended a political rally declaring his ambition despite the kidnappings happening in his state.
"What is happening is a shame to CAN, PFN, Islamic bodies," Primate Ayodele stated. He continued: "God is not with this government, and if Tinubu doesn't do all that is needed, he will be disgraced out of office."
Makinde's handling of the crisis has been woefully inadequate, the prophet claimed. Yet the governor proceeded with political activities anyway.
Ayodele invoked the blood of innocent victims crying out for justice. He described the situation as a disgrace to traditional rulers across Yoruba land, saying they're bringing bitterness to the region.
Tinubu has failed catastrophically on security, according to the spiritual leader's assessment. Nigeria is suffering immensely under current leadership, he noted.
If the abducted children die in captivity, Tinubu should abandon any second-term ambitions, Primate Ayodele warned. He drew parallels to how the security crisis unfolded during Jonathan's presidency.
Pastors receiving government allowances must stop the arrangement immediately, he urged them. These clerics should step forward and speak publicly instead, the prophet insisted.
Ayodele claimed he'd made personal efforts to warn authorities beforehand. Officials never took his warnings seriously, he told reporters.
"I had warned about Oyo like ten times in my video; I made mention of schools severally, but they didn't listen," the prophet said. He demanded that the President take whatever measures necessary to ensure the children's safety.
