President Tinubu Urges Qatari Investors to Report Bribe-Seeking Officials

President Bola Tinubu has once again emphasized his government’s commitment to fight corruption and create a conducive business environment for foreign investors.

During the Nigeria-Qatar Business and Investment Forum in Doha on Sunday, he urged Qatari investors to report any Nigerian government official who asks for a bribe.

President Tinubu promised that his administration will deal decisively with any entrenched interests in the country that undermine investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.

He assured the investors that reforms are already in place, urging them to forget about any negative past experiences.

The President also highlighted the appointment of former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman Nuhu Ribadu as National Security Adviser (NSA), stating that Ribadu’s reputation for fighting corruption will strengthen Nigeria’s efforts against corruption and insecurity.

Tinubu’s message to the Qatari investors was clear: “Do not offer a bribe to any of our people, and if it is requested or taken from you, report to us.

You will have access to me.” He stressed that Nigeria is serious about revolutionizing investment promotion and removing obstacles to investment.

The President’s statements come at a time when Nigeria is working to attract more foreign investment and improve its business environment.

By encouraging investors to report bribe-seeking officials, he hopes to foster a transparent and fair business climate that will benefit both Nigeria and its international partners.
