President Tinubu Postpones Abia Power Project Commissioning to February 26

President Bola Tinubu has postponed the commissioning of the highly anticipated Abia Power Project in Osisioma Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria.

The event, initially scheduled for February 24, 2024, has now been rescheduled to Monday, February 26, 2024.

The Abia Power Project, also known as the Aba Integrated Power Project, is a multi-billion naira electricity project aimed at providing reliable power supply to the Aba Ringed Fenced Area, which includes nine local government areas: Aba North and South, Isiala Ngwa North and South, Osisioma, Ugwunagbo, Obingwa, Ukwa East, and West.

The project is expected to significantly improve the power supply in these areas, boosting local businesses and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

The commissioning of the Geometric Power Plant, which is part of the Abia Power Project, was initially planned for Saturday, February 24. However, the President’s visit has been rescheduled to Monday, February 26, as per a statement issued by the management of Geometric.

This postponement has been met with mixed reactions from the public, with some expressing disappointment over the delay while others remain optimistic about the potential benefits of the project.

The Abia Power Project is a critical initiative in Nigeria’s quest for energy security and economic development.
