President Tinubu Cuts Down Travel Delegation for FG’s Trips Abroad

President Bola Tinubu has taken decisive action to reduce the cost of governance by slashing the number of people accompanying him on local and foreign trips by 60 percent.

This move is aimed at cutting down the expenses incurred by the Federal Government on official travels.

The directive was announced today by Special Adviser on Media, Ajuri Ngelale, who stated that the President’s office, the Vice President’s office, and the office of the First Lady would all be affected by this cost-cutting measure.

According to the new guidelines, the President will now be accompanied by a maximum of 20 staff members during international trips, while ministers are limited to just four staff members when embarking on foreign journeys. Heads of government agencies are now restricted to having only two accompanying personnel.

This decision reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to streamlining the government’s expenditure and ensuring that taxpayers’ money is utilized efficiently.

The move has been met with positive reactions from the public, with many praising the President for taking a bold step towards reducing the cost of governance.

In addition to the reduction in travel delegation, President Tinubu has also abolished the practice of extensive security delegations when visiting states within the country.

This further emphasizes the President’s commitment to cutting down on unnecessary expenses and ensuring that public funds are used judiciously.
