President Tinubu Approves FCT’s N1.1trn 2024 Statutory Budget: Infrastructure, Healthcare, and Education to Benefit

President Bola Tinubu has given his assent to the Federal Capital Territory’s (FCT) over N1.1 trillion statutory budget for the 2024 fiscal year, as announced by the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike.

The approval is expected to have a significant impact on infrastructure development, healthcare facilities, and the rehabilitation of schools in the FCT.

The budget, which was recently passed by the Senate, allocates N280 billion for overhead, N726 billion for capital projects, and N140 billion for personnel, bringing the total budget to N1.147 trillion.

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, the sponsor of the bill, emphasized that the appropriation bill aligns with the fiscal and developmental policies of the Federal Government, taking into account the FCT administration’s revenue and expenditure forecasts.

Wike expressed his delight at the budget’s approval, highlighting the positive impact it will have on the development of the FCT.

The budget is expected to address key areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, and education, with a focus on improving the quality of life for residents and enhancing the overall development of the nation’s capital.

The approval of the FCT’s 2024 statutory budget by President Tinubu underscores the administration’s commitment to fostering growth and development in the capital city.
