Police Transfer Wanted Delta King, Ikolo, to Military Custody

The Nigerian Police Force has handed over the wanted King of Ewu, Clement Ikolo, to the military after he surrendered to the Delta State Police Command.

The transfer of custody was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe.

King Ikolo was one of the eight individuals declared wanted by the Defence Headquarters in connection with the killing of 17 military personnel in the Okuama community.

He arrived at the state police command headquarters at 6:41 pm on Thursday to surrender himself to Police Commissioner Olufemi Abaniwonda.

Before turning himself in, the monarch spoke to journalists, maintaining his innocence in the alleged crime.

On the same day, the Defence Headquarters declared eight persons, including King Ikolo, as wanted for their alleged roles in the killing of 17 military personnel on a peace-keeping mission to Delta State.

The other individuals named as wanted are Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (also known as Amagben), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki, a traditional ruler; Reuben Baru, and Igoli Ebi.

The Nigerian military is now responsible for further investigation and potential prosecution of the suspects in this high-profile case.

As the situation unfolds, it is expected that the authorities will provide updates on the progress of the investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings.
