Police to get better welfare package as morale booster

As part of efforts to boost the relatively low morale of men of the Nigerian Police Force, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba Akali has disclosed plans by the force to improve the welfare of its officers.

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Department of Research and Planning, Moses Ambakina Jitoboh, who was in a ‘morale-boosting visit to the Delta State Command Headquarter in Asaba, today, gave the position of the IGP, noting that, all modalities have been put in place to ensure that the welfare of the police is improved.

According to DIG Jitoboh, who is also the Commander, Operation Restore Peace, South-South, the visit was in line with the directive by the IGP to DIGs of all geopolitical zones to go round their zones to boost the morale of the officers and became necessary in view of the killings of police personnel, burning down of police facilities and public properties in the country.

 

The Police boss who lectured the personnel on the theme, “Never Again”, advised the officers to be proactive and beware of their environment at all times, charging them to never again fold their hands allowed themselves to be attacked by miscreants.

In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police Delta state, CP Ari Muhammed Ali expressed the command’s gratitude to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Alkali Usman Baba for deeming it necessary to deploy more personnel to the command, through the Operation Restore Peace, adding that the men deployed have in no small way added to the security architecture of the state.
