Police Bust Baby Factory in Abia, Rescue 16 Pregnant Mothers and 8 Children

In a successful operation on Thursday night, police in Abia State, Nigeria, rescued 16 pregnant mothers and 8 children from a ‘baby factory’ in the commercial city of Aba.

The raid was conducted following a tip-off about the unpatriotic activities occurring in the baby factory.

The four-story building with 10 flats and an adjacent building in the compound were targeted in the raid. Among the suspects arrested was the owner of the baby factory, who was also found to be pregnant.

Another facilitator, Onyinyechi, and a male resident of the compound, Ekpene, were also apprehended.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Ngozi Felix, commended the police for their efforts and expressed her delight in rescuing the misguided girls.

The Ministry, in collaboration with the Office of the Wife of the Governor, is working to provide a safe and supportive environment for the rescued women.

They will be kept in good custody while the investigation continues.

The rescue of these pregnant mothers and children is a significant step in combating the illegal and unethical practices of baby factories.

The International Women’s Day celebration provided a fitting backdrop for this operation, highlighting the importance of protecting vulnerable women and children in society.
