Panic has gripped Bukuru community in Jos South Local Government Area after two young men vanished within a month. Residents fear the disappearances may be linked to political rivalries.

The missing men are Aminu Abdullahi, known as Dan Siyasa, and Abdulkadir Abubakar. Ben Sabo, a youth leader, told reporters on Tuesday that both were active in local politics.

Dan Siyasa operated a commercial tricycle. He's been missing since May 23, 2026.

According to Sabo, an unknown person hired Aminu for a trip around 9 p.m. that evening. His friend accompanied him but the trio never returned.

Before leaving, Aminu handed his phone to someone for charging. Neither he nor his tricycle have been found since then.

Family members and residents launched search efforts immediately. All attempts to locate him proved unsuccessful.

While searching for Aminu, another disappearance came to light. Abdulkadir Abubakar, a motorcycle rider, had also gone missing earlier in May.

His family said they'd been looking for him for weeks without success. They only reported it after Aminu vanished.

Both youths were deeply involved in community politics. Some residents suspect their disappearances aren't random.

The double loss has left the community frightened and angry. Youth groups are now questioning whether political enemies orchestrated the vanishings.

Sabo described the situation as deeply disturbing and unacceptable. Many believe foul play is involved.

Youth organizations have given security agencies seven days to find the men. They warned of a potential breakdown in law and order if nothing happens.

Residents are demanding urgent action from multiple quarters. The Plateau State Government must intervene immediately.

Police must investigate thoroughly, Sabo emphasized to reporters. The Department of State Services should also get involved.

According to him, coordinated security operations are essential now. Intelligence gathering and surveillance must increase across the area.

Without swift action, confidence in security will collapse entirely. The community needs answers about what happened to these young men.

Sabo called for a comprehensive probe into both cases. Authorities must prevent any further disappearances in the region.

Residents want the missing persons found alive or dead. The uncertainty is eating away at community peace.
