Solomon Ndam has emerged as the new chairman of the National Democratic Congress in Plateau State. Party delegates and stakeholders gathered in Jos on Friday for the congress.

Party chieftain Jonathan Sunday Akuns opened the gathering with strong words. He emphasized the NDC's dedication to inclusive governance and community-level development.

Akuns noted that party policies would address the varied concerns of communities across the state. His remarks set the tone for the day's proceedings.

Officials conducting the election described the process as free and fair. Ndam secured the chairmanship position with backing from delegates present.

In his acceptance remarks, Ndam committed to strengthening grassroots mobilization efforts. He also pledged to foster unity among party members.

Tackling unemployment and insecurity will be priorities, he told the gathering. Ndam said social divisions must also be addressed through party initiatives.

He expressed optimism about the party's chances in the 2027 elections. According to him, membership has surged significantly in recent months.

Over 250,000 new members have registered within a short timeframe. This growth, Ndam argued, signals increasing public confidence in the party.

Other party leaders at the congress called for cohesion among members. They stressed that unity would strengthen the NDC's electoral prospects.

Ndam and his team committed to expanding grassroots engagement across the state. They vowed to deepen the party's presence in every community.
