The Peoples Democratic Party has unveiled its roadmap for the 2027 elections. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki's newly sworn-in interim leadership made the announcement following a National Executive Committee meeting on Monday.
Presidential nomination forms will cost ₦100 million each. Party spokesperson Ini Ememobong confirmed the pricing in a statement released after the NEC session.
Governorship aspirants must pay ₦40 million for their forms. Senate hopefuls will part with ₦10 million, while House of Representatives candidates need ₦7 million.
State assembly aspirants face a ₦2 million fee. Women seeking to run will only purchase expression of interest forms at no set price mentioned.
Young people and persons with disabilities get a 50 percent reduction on nomination forms. Party officials said this was designed to encourage broader participation from these groups.
Form sales begin May 5 and run through May 13, 2026. All candidates across every position can purchase their papers during this window.
State chapters must submit their party registers to INEC by May 7, 2026. This deadline gives the electoral body time to process submissions before primaries commence.
Ward congresses and primary elections are scheduled for late May 2026. Special ward congresses for the presidential primary will also occur during this period.
INEC has set January 16, 2027 for presidential and National Assembly elections. Voters will return to the polls on February 6, 2027 for governorship and state assembly races.
Party insiders described the schedule as ambitious but achievable. They said it provides candidates sufficient time to campaign and mobilize supporters across the country.
