Nigeria's main opposition party, the PDP, has set May 4, 2026 for its 103rd National Executive Committee meeting. An official notice posted on the party's social media account on Saturday confirmed the date.

The meeting will commence at 2:00 pm sharp. Attendance is restricted to statutory NEC members only, the party stated.

State governors under the PDP banner will attend. Lawmakers from the party's National Assembly bloc are also expected.

Members of the Board of Trustees and state party chairmen must be present. National ex-officio members and former NWC officials will participate.

Former governors fall within the invited category. Principal officers of the National Assembly from PDP ranks will also attend.

According to the notice, the meeting was called following a resolution signed by two-thirds of NEC members. This action complied with Section 31 of the party's constitution.

In its statement, the PDP reaffirmed its commitment to internal unity and democracy. The party said it remains focused on stability within its ranks.

Party discipline and the inclusion of all members guide the organisation's operations. Officials noted that these principles will shape discussions at the upcoming meeting.

The party also stressed its dedication to the wellbeing of Nigerians. It expressed confidence as the 2027 general elections approach.
