PDP Appoints Adolphus Wabara as New BoT Chairman

In a significant development for the Nigerian political landscape, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed the appointment of former President of the Senate, Adolphus Wabara, as the new and substantive Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT).

The announcement was made on February 13, 2024, by Abdulrahman Zakariyau of Punch Newspapers.

Wabara’s appointment comes as a strategic move by the PDP to strengthen its leadership structure and prepare for upcoming political challenges.

The former Senate President brings a wealth of experience and political acumen to the table, which will undoubtedly be crucial in guiding the party through the current political climate.

In addition to Wabara’s appointment, the PDP has also named Ahmed Makarfi, the former Governor of Kaduna State, as the new BoT Secretary. Makarfi replaces the outgoing Minister of Special Duties, Kabir Turaki, in this critical role.

The PDP’s decision to appoint a new BoT Chairman and Secretary underscores the party’s commitment to maintaining a strong and stable leadership team.

This move is particularly important as the party gears up for the upcoming election season and seeks to consolidate its position as a major political force in Nigeria.

With the new appointments in place, the PDP is poised to continue its mission of promoting democratic values and providing effective governance to the Nigerian people.

As the political landscape evolves, the party’s commitment to its core principles and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances will be crucial in determining its long-term success.
