Leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 5, Owhelogbo in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, have unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and the member representing Isoko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Jonathan Ukodhiko.
The ward also extended the confidence vote to the Isoko North Council Chairman, Godwin Ogorugba, and the member representing Isoko North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Bernard Odior.
The motion for the vote of confidence was moved by Ugaga Ogheneyole, Special Assistant to the Governor on Talent Development, and seconded by a party member. It was unanimously adopted during an enlarged meeting of the ward, convened to strategize on the party’s progress and formally welcome decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Labour Party (LP) to the PDP.
Addressing the gathering, a former APC stalwart, Sunny Uthoro, expressed regret over his defection to the APC in the past, describing his return to the PDP as a homecoming. He said, “The APC has nothing to offer the people.”
The former senior aide to a the former State Secretary to Delta State Government and notable APC figure, declared the day his happiest, stating, “Apart from PDP, there’s no other political party in the Isoko nation and Owhelogbo community. Leading other members of the APC to the PDP is joyful and fulfilling. Come 2027, Sheriff’s second tenure is a done deal.”

Similarly, Labour Party decampees led by Precious Anudo cited neglect and underperformance in their former party as reasons for joining the PDP. Anudo asserted, “The PDP has done more for Delta people, and in 2027, Sheriff’s return will be 100 percent.”
Other former APC leaders, including Akpoyibo Obiovo, Bright Oziwele, Yanke Omote, Onos Elijah, Emeni, and James Ighota, shared similar sentiments, emphasizing that politics should be about the development of the people and community. They commended Governor Oborevwori’s strides and pledged to work towards his re-election in 2027.
Ujiri Otobo, another former APC leader, said, “PDP is the party to beat in 2027. I have confidence in Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s leadership, and with your support, the party will reach greater heights.”
Executive Assistant to the Governor on Petroleum Monitoring, Mike Ogwah, praised the governor’s developmental achievements in Isoko and across the state. He expressed optimism, saying the growing return of APC and LP members to the PDP clearly signals an impending landslide victory in 2027.
Receiving the defectors, Jonathan Ukodhiko, represented by Sunny Elueni, welcomed them and assured their full inclusion in the party’s activities.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Owhelogbo PDP Ward 5 and Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilisation, Benedict Ulebe, pledged to work with the new members and urged everyone to unite in ensuring Governor Oborevwori’s successful second term bid.
