Osun's All Progressives Congress is hitting back hard at the Accord Party. The APC says opponents are spreading lies about violence ahead of August 15.

Party spokesman Kola Olabisi made the accusations in a statement released Friday. He denied claims linking the APC, candidate Bola Oyebamiji, and ex-governor Adegboyega Oyetola to violence.

According to Olabisi, these allegations are completely fabricated. The APC believes rivals are trying to manipulate voters as the campaign heats up.

The party rejected reports claiming it attacked opponents. It also denied accusations that vehicles were being branded with Accord insignia to spark unrest.

"We want to enjoin members of the public to disregard these frivolous fabrications," Olabisi's statement read. He was referring to claims against the party leadership and its governorship candidate.

The APC says opponents keep blaming it for incidents during political activities. This pattern, the party contends, shows a coordinated campaign of misinformation.

Oyebamiji, nicknamed AMBO, remains committed to peaceful campaigning. According to the statement, he's pursuing victory through lawful means only.

"Oyebamiji is a man of peace," the statement noted. "He doesn't need violence to win this election."

Confidence runs high in APC circles about the upcoming poll. Party officials believe their mobilisation strategy has positioned them strongly.

Criticism of Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration featured prominently in the statement. The APC argues voter dissatisfaction will determine the election outcome.

Party officials believe opponents are using accusations to distract from their own problems. They claim rivals want public sympathy through these allegations.

The APC renewed its commitment to peaceful political engagement Friday. "Our party has never and will never resort to violence," the statement declared.

Residents should stay alert throughout the campaign period, the party urged. Violence simply won't be part of their strategy, officials insisted.

Meanwhile, Accord lawmakers had called for police redeployment just hours earlier. They accused the APC of orchestrating pre-election violence in the state.

Osun House Speaker Adewale Egbedun led the briefing on Friday. He alleged the Commissioner of Police showed bias toward the ruling party.
