Members of Nigeria's ruling All Progressives Congress gathered across Osun State on Saturday. They overwhelmingly backed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential race.
Party members participated in the primary exercise spanning all 332 wards statewide. The endorsement of Tinubu was clear from voting patterns across the locations.
Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola joined the process at Iragbiji Ward 1. He came with supporters and party loyalists backing the incumbent president.
Bola Oyebamiji, who flies the APC's gubernatorial flag in Osun, also cast his vote. He participated at Ikire Ward 9 alongside other party faithful.
Peace marked the entire primary exercise across monitored wards. Officials reported no disruptions or violent incidents during voting.
Renewed Hope Ambassadors served as ward agents supporting Tinubu's candidacy. Presidential rival Stanley Osifo notably lacked representation in several wards visited.
Sunday Akere, the state Renewed Hope Ambassador, told reporters the exercise ran smoothly. According to him, materials arrived on time at all locations.
"All party members mobilised to all 332 wards to queue for our president," Akere noted. He credited the Ambassadors' structure for ensuring orderly conduct throughout.
Oyetola took charge of collating results at state level. Akere said his team finished counting ballots in Boluwaduro Local Government.
The ambassador disclosed he was heading to Osogbo for final compilation. Results would be forwarded to Abuja for national processing, he explained.
In Osogbo and Olorunda councils, the primary proceeded without hitches. Party workers efficiently managed the voting process across multiple locations.
Tinubu's endorsement reflects strong backing from grassroots APC members. The 2027 election appears set with the president as party standard-bearer.
