OSSIEC to Launch Campaign Against Social Vices in Preparation for Osun LG Poll

In a bid to ensure a smooth and credible local government election in Osun State, the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) has announced plans to launch a campaign against social vices.
This initiative aims to address issues such as cultism, cybercrime, and drug abuse that could potentially disrupt the electoral processes in the state.
OSSIEC Chairman Hashim Abioye made this announcement in a statement on Thursday, emphasizing the commission’s commitment to conducting acceptable polls across the Local Government Council Areas and the Area Council of Osun.
The campaign, tagged “Campaign Against Election 2CD,” is set to be formally unveiled soon.
“The Osun State Independent Electoral Commission will launch a campaign against cultism, cybercrime and drug abuse during elections in Osun.
This will intensify the efforts of the commission to conduct credible and acceptable polls across the Local Government Council Areas and the Area Council of Osun,” Abioye stated.
Abioye called on residents of the state to collaborate with the commission in eradicating electoral offences and all acts that could disrupt the electoral processes.
The local government poll in Osun State has been scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2025.
This initiative by OSSIEC underscores the importance of maintaining the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring that the voice of the people is accurately represented in local governance.
