Onitsha Reopens for Business as Monday Sit-at-Home Ends

For the commercial city of Onitsha, the Monday sit-at-home has finally come to an end as the state government lifted the curfew imposed in Nnewi, Onitsha, and Ogbaru during the security challenges in the area.

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, visited the city to assess the security deployment and interacted with shuttle bus drivers in the Upper Iweka area.

The CP expressed his satisfaction with the return of commercial activities in the area and urged the people to be law-abiding and vigilant.

He also assured them of their safety and provided telephone numbers to call for police response if needed.

While many markets in the city are yet to respond to the end of the sit-at-home, it remains to be seen if everyone in the city will embrace the call to end the sit-at-home on the next Monday.

The return of commercial activities in Onitsha is a positive sign for the local economy and the people’s livelihoods.

As the city moves forward, it is essential for the citizens to remain vigilant and work together to ensure a safe and prosperous future.
