Ondo State Government wants APC members to keep the peace during upcoming party primaries. The elections are set for May 15, 18, and 20, 2026.

Commissioner for Information Idowu Ajanaku issued the call on Wednesday in Akure. He urged aspirants, party leaders and supporters to ensure smooth, transparent contests.

Violence and rancour must be avoided before, during and after voting. Ajanaku made this clear in a statement to journalists.

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa backs the push for orderly primaries. His administration is following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's directive on this matter.

Ondo State should remain a beacon of political maturity. Party members must uphold democratic excellence, the government stressed.

Direct primaries will be used where no consensus candidate exists. This aligns with the National Working Committee's directive.

Ondo's APC chapter committed itself to following NWC guidelines strictly. Internal democratic principles laid down by national leadership must guide the process.

These primaries represent crucial preparation for future elections. They'll especially boost the party's push for President Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid.

Unity among members strengthens the APC significantly. Discipline and peaceful coexistence will keep the party as one family.

Stakeholders must prioritize party interests over personal gains. Personal ambition shouldn't override what benefits the state and APC.

Security agencies must play their role effectively. Electoral officials and party faithful should cooperate fully for credible exercises across the state.
