The Executive Director of Projects at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu, hosted a delegate from the Kogi State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (KOSOPADEC) at the Commission’s headquarters on Thursday, 27th November 2025.
Receiving the visitor on behalf of the DESOPADEC Board, Dr Okorodudu applauded KOSOPADEC for its proactive step in engaging sister commissions to understudy their systems and strengthen its operational model.
"On behalf of the Board, Management and staff of DESOPADEC, I welcome you to the Commission. Anyone or any organisation that reaches out to others to learn already possesses a vision that will yield success. I would like to commend the Kogi Oil Producing Areas Development Commission for taking the initiative to reach out to other oil-producing commissions. Nobody is an embodiment of knowledge. DESOPADEC ranks number one because of its robust organisation. Established in 2007, the Commission’s mandate covers 21 of Delta State’s 25 local government areas, guided by the principle of operating according to quantum."
He added that DESOPADEC looks forward to hosting the full KOSOPADEC delegation soon. “By the time you return with other members of your Commission, we will give you the full details of our modus operandi. We look forward to welcoming you and your team,” he said.
Dr Okorodudu also offered a brief overview of the operations within the Projects Directorate, explaining departmental functions and reaffirming the Commission’s readiness to receive the KOSOPADEC team for a courtesy visit in two weeks.
Earlier, the Kogi delegate, Dr Engr. Usman Nda Mohammed, Executive Director of Social Services, KOSOPADEC, explained that the visit followed an earlier letter requesting a date to understudy DESOPADEC’s operational framework. He expressed gratitude for the warm reception and for the assurance that the full team would be hosted in a fortnight.
Present at the meeting were Engr. Elliot Olokor, Head of Projects Monitoring and Evaluation; QS. Oyimi Williams, Head of Housing; Mr Festus Ifovwodo, Head of Utilities; Prince Gavin Ugbome, Chief Security Officer of DESOPADEC; and Engr. Tony Okuwe, Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of Projects.
