Oborevwori celebrates Ogulagha King, HRM Timiyan, hails legacy of unity, development

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha Kingdom, HRM King Joseph Ijawperebo Timiyan, on the occasion of his birth anniversary, describing him as a beacon of unity, wisdom, and progressive leadership.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the governor praised the monarch’s enduring contributions to the development of the Ogulagha Kingdom and the wider Ijaw nation.

Oborevwori noted that the revered traditional ruler has distinguished himself through exemplary leadership, fostering peace, stability, and cohesion across communities, while preserving the rich cultural heritage of his people.

“I offer my most heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty on the occasion of his birthday. Your luminous leadership, unwavering devotion, and profound wisdom have charted a sure course for the Ogulagha Kingdom and beyond,” the governor stated.

He further commended the monarch’s role as Chairman of the Delta State Ijaw Traditional Rulers Forum, highlighting his ability to bridge tradition and modern governance and his sustained efforts to promote unity within the region.

According to the governor, Ogulagha Kingdom has witnessed notable progress under King Timiyan’s reign, particularly in the areas of education advocacy, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.

Oborevwori also acknowledged the monarch’s strong stance on equitable resource distribution and environmental sustainability in the oil-rich Niger Delta, describing his leadership as both visionary and people-centred.

On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, the governor prayed for continued divine guidance, long life, and good health for the royal father as he continues to lead with dignity and purpose.
