Nwoko's prophetic defection pays off as PDP collapses into APC in Delta

In a dramatic twist that underscores political foresight and strategic brilliance, Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has emerged vindicated as the entire political structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State collapses into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The stunning realignment—led by Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other high-ranking PDP figures—validates Senator Nwoko’s much-criticized defection earlier in the year, a move now seen as visionary.

Speaking on Kakaaki, the senator’s Chief of Staff, Dr. Michael Nwoko, described the senator’s early switch as “a decision born out of the need to protect and deliver real development to the people of Delta North.”

“When Senator Ned Nwoko moved from PDP to APC, we were under heavy fire. Friends, allies, everyone questioned the decision,” Dr. Nwoko recalled. “But now, those same voices are echoing his steps. It’s clear: he saw what others couldn’t.”

He emphasized that the senator’s shift wasn’t political opportunism but a principled move to escape what he called a toxic and ineffective environment in the PDP — one that hindered the fulfillment of campaign promises.

“It was never about political survival. It was about delivering on a mandate. The PDP had become stifling. The APC offered a platform for real impact,” Dr. Nwoko said.

With mass defections now reshaping Delta’s political terrain, Dr. Nwoko addressed the concerns of long-time APC loyalists. He assured that integration efforts are in full swing to unify the party and position it strongly ahead of the 2027 elections.

“We’re here to build, not to divide. Reconciliation is ongoing. We want to deliver governance, not just win elections,” he asserted.

He also underscored the central role of the three APC Senators in Delta—including Senator Ned Nwoko—as key pillars of the party’s future success.

“Governance must not bypass elected leaders. It must include them. Senator Nwoko’s involvement is critical to our progress,” Dr. Nwoko stated.

As Delta State positions itself for an intense political battle in 2027, Senator Ned Nwoko is no longer seen as a defector but as a visionary — one whose bold move has shifted the dynamics and direction of state politics.

Choosing progress over politics, and purpose over popularity, Senator Nwoko has reaffirmed his standing as one of the sharpest political minds in Nigeria’s unfolding democratic story.
