North Central APC Leaders Demand National Chairmanship Position

Leaders and chieftains from the North Central region have called for the National Chairmanship position of the party to be zoned to their region.

This demand was made at a recent meeting held via Zoom, attended by prominent party members and pressure groups from the North Central.

The leaders cited the region’s formidable contributions to the development of the party and its unique backing of President Bola Tinubu’s administration as key reasons for their claim to the position.

They argued that the North Central region has been a strong support base for the APC and has played a significant role in the nation’s democratic growth since the post-military era.

Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, a member of the Presidential Campaign Council in the last election and a participant in the meeting, emphasized that the North Central region has strong men and women who can perform creditably as the party’s National Chairman.

He mentioned notable figures such as Chief Amos Gizo, Engr. Sani Ndanusa, Hajia Salamatu Baiwa, Gbenle Adeyemi, Ahmed Aliyu Tijani, and Mrs. Mary Nieyor Isa, among others.

In addition to the demand for the National Chairmanship position, the North Central APC leaders have been actively engaging with other stakeholders, interest groups, and party members and supporters from the region to form a united front in pursuing their common cause.

They have also urged the North Central APC governors to support their mission.

The North Central APC leaders’ call for the National Chairmanship position comes at a time when the party is undergoing a transition in leadership, with the recent resignation of Senator Abdulahi Adamu as the chairman and Senator Iyiola Omisore as the Secretary.

The outcome of this demand is yet to be determined, but it could have significant implications for the party’s internal dynamics and future political strategies.
