Nigeria’s Restructuring: A Step Towards Sustainable Development

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu acknowledged the need for Nigeria’s restructuring and emphasized the importance of laying a proper foundation before embracing such changes.

The President’s visit followed a private meeting with Afenifere, a prominent Yoruba sociopolitical group, where he discussed his plans for the country’s development.

President Tinubu, who understands the challenges Nigeria is facing, assured that the restructuring would be done in a way that would bring positive solutions to the nation’s problems.

He emphasized that proper foundation must be laid to ensure that the restructuring process is sustainable and does not collapse.

During his visit to the late Governor’s home, President Tinubu expressed his condolences to the family and praised the late Akeredolu for his contributions to the nation’s development.

He also highlighted the importance of regional competition and the need to learn from the successes of the First Republic.

The President’s stance on restructuring aligns with the demands of Afenifere, who have been at the forefront of the campaign for a restructured Nigeria since the annulment of the June 12, 1993, presidential election.

They believe that restructuring would lead to sustainable development and address the challenges of regional competition, population management, and infrastructure development.

President Tinubu’s focus on economic growth and job creation is evident in his adoption of the Oronsaye Report as the basis for Public Service reforms.

The President’s commitment to improving education and addressing regional challenges is also commendable.

As Nigeria continues its journey towards sustainable development, the restructuring process must be carefully planned and executed to ensure that it addresses the needs of all regions and promotes unity and progress.

With President Tinubu at the helm, the country is poised to embrace a new era of growth and development that will benefit all Nigerians.
