Nigerian Women are to be Blamed for Dollar Crisis

Nigerian women are being blamed for the current dollar crisis in the country, according to Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose.

In a recent interview on the Arise Television program “Perspectives,” Fayose claimed that Nigerian women are contributing to the dollar scarcity because they now demand foreign currency from their men.

Fayose further stated that Nigerian men now get married at a later age due to economic hardship, as women are unwilling to start life with a struggling man.

He believes that this is a significant factor in the rise of prostate cancer among Nigerian men.

In the viral video, Fayose also advised President Bola Tinubu to convert deposits in domiciliary accounts into naira to ease the pressure on the nation’s currency.

He reiterated this point during the interview, accusing Nigerian women of keeping the dollar for themselves to use for body enhancement procedures.

Fayose even suggested that President Tinubu should tax Nigerian women for their role in the dollar crisis.

He believes that the high demands of women for foreign currency and their focus on body enhancement procedures are the primary reasons for the dollar crisis in Nigeria.

The Nigerian economy has been facing a difficult time, with the naira reaching an all-time low of ₦1,490 against the USD in the parallel market.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has introduced measures to halt the slide, including a directive to Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) to sell their excess dollar stock.

In conclusion, the current dollar crisis in Nigeria is being attributed to the demands of Nigerian women for foreign currency and their focus on body enhancement procedures, according to Isaac Fayose.

It remains to be seen how President Tinubu will address this issue and if his proposed measures will be effective in stabilizing the Nigerian economy.
