This initiative was highlighted in a recent meeting between President Bola Tinubu and Charles Odii, Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

During the meeting, Odii discussed the agency’s ‘GROW Nigerian’ strategy, which aims to offer small and medium enterprises (SMEs) essential guidance, resources, opportunities, and workforce support to thrive.

The strategy includes creating an enabling environment for over 40 million small businesses, collectively providing more than 60 million jobs.

This approach is geared towards empowering SMEs to drive down inflationary pressures and promoting prosperity throughout Nigeria.

President Tinubu reiterated his commitment to SMEDAN’s core mandates, emphasizing the importance of SMEs in achieving the government’s mission to eradicate poverty and ensure economic prosperity in all regions of the country.

The President’s assurance has been met with excitement and optimism, as it signals a strong governmental backing for the growth and development of small businesses.

Odii expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for his time and exemplary leadership, stating that the President’s support has reinvigorated his determination to pursue SMEDAN’s mandate and deliver meaningful outcomes for small business owners nationwide.

The Nigerian Government’s commitment to removing obstacles hindering the growth of small businesses represents a significant step towards fostering economic growth and development.
