The Nigeria Digital Public Relations Summit has put together a six-member Advisory Board of top PR and communications professionals.

This marks a major step forward for the Summit, which is marking its 11th year of operations. The board will guide the event's strategic direction and impact across the continent.

Board members will offer independent advice and industry expertise to the Summit organisers. They'll also push for stronger partnerships and professional development in digital PR practice.

Yomi Badejo Okusanya leads the board as chairman. He's the Lead Partner at CMC Connect LLP and a former President of the African Public Relations Association.

Other board members include Emeka Oparah, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Airtel Africa. Yushau A.

Shuaib founded Image Merchants Promotion Limited and publishes PRNigeria and Economic Confidential.

Tolulope Olorundero, who established MosronCommunications, also sits on the board. She founded Nigerian Women in Public Relations to champion female voices in the sector.

Omawumi Ogbe runs GLG Communications and created the PR Power List initiative. Celestine Achi, CEO of Cihan Media Group, rounds out the six-member team.

Speaking for the board, Okusanya said the Summit has proven itself as a credible professional platform. "We've built something serious here for advancing digital PR conversations," he noted.

According to him, the platform tackles reputation management and strategic communications across Africa effectively. The communications landscape is getting more complex, he added, and practitioners must think critically and collaborate across sectors.

"This generation of communicators needs to adapt continuously and work across boundaries," Okusanya stated. He believes the Summit has an important role in developing those skilled professionals.

Summit Convener Segun McMedal called the board appointments a defining moment for growth. He told reporters the establishment signals the event's continued evolution and maturity.

"These professionals bring tremendous experience and influence to our work," McMedal said. Their involvement will strengthen partnerships and expand the Summit's reach across Africa, he noted.

Lagos will host the 11th Nigeria Digital PR Summit on October 15 and 16, 2026. The event theme is "The Rise of Digital Influence: Culture, Creators and the New PR Playbook."
