Remi Tinubu, Nigeria Customs Launch N500 Million Fund To Assist Vulnerable Nigerians Amid Hardship
Nigeria Customs and the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, have joined forces to launch a N500 million fund aimed at supporting vulnerable Nigerians during these challenging times.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Customs Officers Wives’ Association (COWA), was announced at the recent relaunch of the association in Abuja.

During the event, Mrs. Tinubu, represented by the President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association, Oghogho Musa, emphasized the importance of compassion and empathy in building a strong and integrated community.

She stressed that the federal government is fully committed to supporting initiatives that help alleviate hardship in Nigeria.

The President of COWA, Kikelomo Adeniyi, announced that the N500 million fund will be used to assist approximately 100,000 underprivileged Nigerians in 2024.

The fund is a significant step in addressing the current economic challenges faced by many Nigerian citizens.

Bashir Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs, highlighted the crucial role of women in alleviating the country’s hardship.

He mentioned that the service had allocated land worth N35 million in Abuja for COWA, emphasizing their commitment to empowering and supporting the wellbeing of women within the organization.

COWA’s initiative includes personal and professional development for officers’ wives, fostering a harmonious home environment, and actively engaging in community development.

These efforts are in line with the objectives of the Nigerian Customs Service to improve the lives of its citizens and contribute to the nation’s overall development.

As Nigeria continues to face economic challenges, initiatives like the N500 million fund by the Nigeria Customs and First Lady serve as a beacon of hope for vulnerable citizens.

By working together, the government and its agencies can make a significant impact in improving the lives of those in need.
