Niger Deputy Governor Visits Madaka Community, Vows to End Insecurity

Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba paid a visit to the area on Thursday, April 5, 2024.
This visit comes after a devastating bandit attack on March 21, which resulted in the loss of lives and the displacement of many residents.
The Niger State Government has expressed its determination to put an end to insecurity in all parts of the state.
During his visit, Deputy Governor Garba met with displaced persons taking refuge at the local government secretariat and engaged with various community stakeholders, including traditional leaders, vigilante groups, youths, and women’s groups in Madaka, Kagara, and Tegina communities.
He also toured security formations coordinating the tactical warfare against terrorism in the council area.
The March 21 bandit attack in Madaka left more than 20 individuals killed, injured, or kidnapped. This incident has further emphasized the need for a robust and effective security strategy to combat the rising insecurity in the region.
In response to these challenges, the Niger State Government has taken several measures to reinforce security in Madaka and prevent further attacks.
