New Political Alliance Emerges as Atiku, Obi, and Kwankwaso Join Forces Ahead of 2027 Election

The former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party’s (LP) Peter Obi, and New Nigeria Peoples Party’s (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso have agreed to form a formidable political alliance aimed at challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election.

Political economist and leader of the National Consultative Front, Professor Pat Utomi, made this revelation during an interview with Vanguard.

According to Utomi, the three opposition leaders have decided to put aside their differences and work together to create a new political party that will represent the interests of all Nigerians.

The move comes as a surprise to many, as the trio had previously been rivals in the 2023 presidential election.

However, their decision to join forces reflects a growing desire among opposition parties to unite against the incumbent government, which has faced criticism for its handling of various issues, including security and the economy.

The new political alliance is expected to draw support from a broad base of Nigerians, with many hoping that it will provide a viable alternative to the APC in the 2027 election.

As the political landscape in Nigeria continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how this new alliance will impact the future of the country’s democracy.

One thing is for certain, though – the 2027 presidential election is shaping up to be one of the most hotly contested in recent memory.
