NDDC: Ojougboh warns rumour mongers to desist from destabilizing IMC

By Ovasa Ogaga,

The Executive Director of Projects (EDP) Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Dr. Cairo Ojougboh has strongly warned rumour mongers to desist from making any attempt whatsoever to destabilize the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the NDDC, saying that the IMC is working together as a team.

In a statement signed by his S.A Media, Gabriel Choba, the EDP reiterated that the three man committee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari led by Acting Managing Director, Dr. Joi Nunieh is working together.

The statement reads in parts; “Those rumour mongers who are envious of the milestone of the IMC because of the indelible progress in the ongoing Forensic Audit which has rattled dubious contractors and looters over the years, are the people trying to destabilize the IMC.”

The statement added; “The Honourable Minister of Niger Delta has already presented the milestone of the Forensic Audit with the appointment of a lead consultant to the federal executive council last Wednesday; therefore everything is on course in the NDDC.

“We therefore assure the general public that the interim management committee will work with the lead consultant which has been approved by the federal executive council; and in the shortest possible time, the forensic auditors will emerge”

“We seize this opportunity to encourage contractors who collected money previously and refused to go to site but now at the inception of the audit have returned to site. We also encourage other contractors who have completed their verification and documentation, that as soon as the 2019 and 2020 budget is passed, they will be paid”.

The statement however thanked the National Assembly for the prompt attention and corporation given to the budget, the IMC: and the Ministry of Niger Delta in the budget presentation”
