The Nigeria Democratic Congress says its candidates will compete in the 2027 elections despite recent court rulings against the party.

Ikenna Enekweizu, national secretary of the NDC, made this declaration on Friday during an appearance on Channels Television's Politics Today.

A Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, had just set aside an earlier judgment that ordered INEC to register the NDC.

Enekweizu alleged the timing was deliberate and strategic. He noted the ruling came just as the party prepared to collect registration codes from the electoral commission.

"All our candidates will be on the ballots come 2027, and we will win the elections," he told the television station.

According to him, the NDC was scheduled to pick up its codes that very day to begin uploading candidates' information.

"The ruling just came up in the middle of the day. I think it was designed and timed to stop us from picking up those codes," Enekweizu noted.

He promised the party would push ahead regardless of the court decision. "We'll pick them up.

We'll upload our candidates and we'll participate in the elections," he said.

Enekweizu insisted party supporters had nothing to fear about the party's electoral prospects. He expressed confidence the NDC would win come 2027.

In his words, Nigerians are exhausted with the current administration's performance. "We are fed up with the hunger, the insecurity, the failures of government and the heartlessness that is ruining this country," he added.

Enekweizu emphasized the party still has six months before next year's elections. The NDC intends to use that time strategically.
