Nigeria's Democratic Congress made a major announcement on Friday. Party National Chairman Senator Moses Cleopas unveiled plans for the group's first national convention.
The event will happen in Abuja on Saturday, May 9, 2026. It takes place at Los Angeles Event Centre on Ahmadu Bello Way, starting at 10 a.m.
Cleopas shared the news through the party's X account. He extended an invitation to all delegates to participate in the historic gathering.
"The Nigerian Democratic Congress welcomes all delegates to its inaugural national convention," the statement read. The announcement marks a significant moment for the relatively new political party.
