NAFDAC and PCN Issue Warning to Manufacturers and Distributors Over Fake Drugs in Kano Markets

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration (NAFDAC) and the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria (PCN) have issued a warning to manufacturers, importers, and distributors of pharmaceutical products to stop supplying fake drugs to certain parts of Kano markets.

This move comes in an effort to curb the circulation of counterfeit drugs in the region and protect the health of the Nigerian population.

The warning specifically targets those supplying fake drugs to Sabon Gari, Kantin Kwari, and Wambai markets in Kano.

These markets are known to be hubs for the sale of pharmaceutical products, and the presence of counterfeit drugs poses a significant risk to public health.

NAFDAC and PCN are urging all stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry to adhere to the guidelines and regulations set by the government to ensure that only safe and effective drugs are distributed in the market.

They have also emphasized the need for increased surveillance and enforcement to prevent the sale of fake drugs.

The warning serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining a high standard of quality in the pharmaceutical industry to protect the health and well-being of the Nigerian population.

It is hoped that this move by NAFDAC and PCN will help to reduce the circulation of counterfeit drugs in Kano markets and promote a healthier and safer environment for all.
