Military Has Capacity to End Security Challenges, Says Kwankwaso

Sen. Musa Kwankwaso, a former Minister of Defence and the National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has stated that the Nigerian military has the capacity to end the current security challenges facing the country, given the necessary motivation.

Speaking with newsmen after the NNPP National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja, Kwankwaso emphasized that addressing the security challenge is primarily the responsibility of the Federal Government, but Nigerians also have a crucial role to play by providing vital information to security agencies.

“As a former Minister of Defence and Chief Security Officer of Kano State for eight years, I believe that tackling security challenges is now on the shoulders of the federal government.

The level at which it is today is at the level of the Nigerian military, and anything short of that wouldn’t work,” he said.

Kwankwaso, who was also the NNPP 2023 presidential candidate, expressed that his party has the formula to address the problem and other challenges facing the country if given the opportunity by Nigerians.

He added that the NNPP is the only hope for Nigerians, criticizing the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for failing the people.

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State, who was present at the meeting, urged party members to be fully dedicated to the party, stating that there is no such thing as 99% loyalty to the party, but only 100% loyalty.

The NNPP National Executive Committee meeting aimed to address various issues, including the security challenges facing the country and the party’s strategy for the future.

The meeting’s outcome suggests that the NNPP is focused on providing solutions to the security challenges and other issues that have plagued Nigeria for years.
