LP Reserves 2027 Presidential, Abia Gov Tickets for Obi, Otti

The Labour Party (LP) has recommended reserving the 2027 presidential ticket for former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and the governorship ticket for Abia State Governor, Alex Otti.

This decision was made at the party’s National Convention held in Nnewi, Anambra State, on Wednesday.

The LP based this recommendation on the stellar performance of both Obi and Otti in their respective positions.

According to the communique issued after the convention, the party believes that reserving the tickets for these two leaders would ensure continued growth and development in the country.

Peter Obi, who was the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, came in second place with 6,101,533 votes, trailing behind Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Despite not securing the presidency, Obi’s performance has garnered significant support from the LP.

Meanwhile, the LP also recognized the efforts of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, by passing a vote of confidence in him and recommending that the 2027 Abia State governorship ticket be reserved for him.

The party called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take immediate action to address the challenges faced by the Nigerian economy and put it on a path of growth and development.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, the LP remains optimistic about its future and the potential impact its leaders could have on the nation.
