Lawmaker Prioritizes Lagosians’ Needs: Offin-Oreta Road Reconstruction Commences

The lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Babajimi Benson, has recently kicked off the much-awaited reconstruction of the 13km Offin-Oreta Road.

The project, which is part of his electioneering promises to his constituency, aims to improve the lives of commuters and boost economic activities in the region.

The road reconstruction, which commenced on March 5, 2024, was met with enthusiasm and appreciation from local community leaders and members of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Sesan Daini, Chairman of the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, highlighted the importance of the road for the council area, given its proximity to major economic zones like Lekki, Victoria Island, and Banana Island.

Furthermore, the project is expected to enhance waterway transport, offering an alternative mode of transportation and contributing to the reduction of traffic congestion in the region.

Community involvement is at the heart of this project, as Benson has pledged to collaborate with local youth and women in the reconstruction process.

This commitment not only ensures that the project resonates with the needs and aspirations of his constituents but also guarantees a boost to the local economy.

Community Development Associations are also set to benefit from the project, as they will play a crucial role in supporting the contractor and ensuring timely completion.

The flag-off ceremony, attended by traditional rulers and APC chieftains in Ikorodu, marked a new chapter in the development of the area.

It serves as a testament to the importance of fulfilling election promises and prioritizing the needs of the community.

As the reconstruction progresses, the people of Ikorodu eagerly await the positive impact on their daily lives and the overall development of their region.
