Crowds of candidates descended on Labour Party headquarters in Abuja this week. They came to pick up nomination forms for the 2027 general elections.

Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, former first lady of Ondo State, was among them. She's running for Imo East Senatorial District.

Hassan Mamman Barguwa also obtained his forms at the secretariat. He's a former lawmaker now eyeing Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency in Adamawa.

Dennis Chibuzor Oshai picked up papers for Aniocha/Oshimili in Delta State. Eric Edward is contesting Hong State Constituency.

Mohammed Hayatu Atiku secured his documentation for Uba/Gaya State Constituency. The activity reflected growing enthusiasm for party tickets.

Barguwa praised the party's process as smooth and efficient. He told reporters he's confident in Labour Party's resurgence across Adamawa and the northeast.

Dozens of other aspirants remained at the secretariat handling paperwork. Party officials continued processing applications into the evening.

Interest in Labour Party nominations appears remarkably strong nationwide. Officials say the rush suggests competitive races ahead in 2027.
