Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former Kano governor, has challenged Atiku Abubakar to await next year's election results. He made the remarks on Monday during an appearance on Arise Television's Prime Time show.

Atiku had recently claimed that Kwankwaso's influence doesn't extend beyond Kano. Kwankwaso dismissed the assertion, saying the two men have moved beyond such discussions.

He noted that he currently belongs to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC). Atiku, he observed, is with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

"Let's wait for the election and see," Kwankwaso told reporters during the interview. He insisted patience was needed on the question of vote-splitting in Kano.

According to him, those questioning whether their votes would split lack patience. He called for the electoral process to determine what actually happens on the ground.

Kwankwaso extended best wishes to Atiku and his political movement. He expressed confidence in the NDC's direction moving forward.
