Kano Governor Yusuf Launches Probe into Political Violence and Misappropriation Under Ganduje

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has taken a decisive step towards addressing issues of political violence and misappropriation of public assets by establishing two judicial panels.

The panels will investigate cases of political violence and missing persons during the tenure of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, as well as cases of misappropriation of public properties and assets.

In a statement released on Thursday, Yusuf emphasized that the move is not politically motivated but is a fulfillment of his campaign promise to hold those involved in the misappropriation of public funds accountable.

The governor highlighted the detrimental impact of political violence on democracy, loss of lives and property, and public trust in the government.

The first judicial commission, headed by Kano High Court Judge Zuwaira Yusuf, will focus on uncovering the criminal networks behind political violence and missing persons since 2015.

The second panel, led by Faruk Lawan, a judge in the state, will investigate cases of misappropriation of public properties and assets.

Governor Yusuf expressed confidence in the selected members of the panels, stating that they were chosen based on their impeccable records.

He urged the commissions to remain committed to their oath and submit their full reports within three months.

By establishing these panels, Governor Yusuf aims to promote accountability and transparency in governance while ensuring justice for victims of political violence and misappropriation of public assets.

As Kano State embarks on this journey of investigation and reform, the people of the state can look forward to a more secure and just future under the leadership of Governor Yusuf.
