Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) on Saturday donated various food items, toiletries and learning materials to Nasarawa Children`s home to mark this year’s Children’s Day.

The firm’s Managing Director, Ahmed Dangana, said that the gesture was part of its commitment to society, especially to the less privileged.

He said that the donation was also geared toward celebrating the less privileged children the little way the firm  could.

“We must ensure the welfare of our children and also put smile on their faces,” he said.

According to him, the company will install prepaid meter to the orphanage and the staff members as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and will make funds available to provide energy to the orphanage.

Hajiya Aisha Kurawa, the officer-in-charge of the children`s home, who thanked electricity firm for the donation,  noted that the items would go a long way in helping the children.

Kurawa also called for more humanitarian support from individuals and corporate organisations.
