Nkemanma Kama has won the APC primary for Ohanivo Federal Constituency. The incumbent lawmaker will represent the party in the forthcoming general election.

Kama represents Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo in the House of Representatives. He spoke to reporters moments after clinching the ticket at the party primary.

"I'm elated and very happy for being given another opportunity to serve my people," Kama said. He thanked party stakeholders, leaders, constituents, and the governor for their support throughout the process.

According to him, the primary exercise demonstrated what voters can expect during the general election. "This is nothing compared to what will happen during the general election," he told supporters with confidence.

"This is just a piece of cake for what is going to happen during the election proper," Kama added. He expressed optimism about the party's prospects in the February polls.

Kama promised greater development and more opportunities for the constituency during his second term. He emphasized that retaining experienced lawmakers was essential to attracting federal benefits to the area.

"A ranking member is a ranking member; you can't buy that in the market," the lawmaker noted. He pointed out that his experience as an incumbent would secure more projects for constituents.

Kama observed that Governor Francis Nwifuru, being a former parliamentarian, understands the value of having ranking members. Such lawmakers, he argued, can use their seniority to bring development to their constituencies.

Ebonyi State Commissioner for ICT, Tochukwu Okorie, also addressed reporters after the primary. He said the large turnout showed voters' confidence in the ruling party.

"When you look at the crowd and the fact that they have waited here since morning, it shows they are happy and satisfied with the party," Okorie noted. He praised supporters for their patience and commitment.

Asked about potential challenges from opposition parties, Okorie was dismissive. He insisted the APC remained deeply entrenched among the people of the constituency.

Party supporters thronged the primary venue in large numbers on Saturday. Their presence underscored expectations of a competitive general election in Ohanivo.
