Kaduna State Embraces AI and Robotics for Economic Growth

Kaduna State Government announced a groundbreaking partnership with tech giants Google and Huawei.

This initiative is aimed at equipping five thousand women with skills in artificial intelligence (AI), a step forward in empowering women and harnessing digital technology for economic growth.

The collaboration was unveiled at the third Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Summit in Kaduna, where Governor Uba Sani, represented by his deputy, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, highlighted the administration’s commitment to harnessing the power of digital technology to drive economic growth, improve governance, and enhance the quality of life of citizens.

With the rapid advancement of technology in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics, the state does not want its citizens to be left behind.

Governor Uba Sani emphasized that societies neglecting AI and robotics will be left behind: “AI and robotics have become an unstoppable hurricane. It is safer to flow with it.”

Through the partnership with Google, specifically, the state is providing AI skills targeted at empowering 5000 women.

The state has also launched initiatives to foster innovation and technological advancement, including the establishment of the Kaduna Technology City and investment in fiber optics infrastructure and data centers.

Dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu, President of the Nigeria Computer Society, also spoke at the summit, stating that the adoption of AI and robotics holds immense potential to streamline government processes, enhance service delivery, drive productivity, and boost competitiveness across sectors.

This ambitious partnership between the government and tech giants Google and Huawei marks a significant step forward in bridging the digital divide and harnessing the power of digital technology to drive economic growth in Nigeria.
